    I got a Sony XR550V HD Video camera as an early father's day present a few weeks ago.

    I've had it out & about a couple of times now, I'm like it! I should upload the video of Ditto from the Stratigic Air & Space museum a couple of weeks ago. Ditto is the Sojourner looking robot at http://www.mymindsi.com/.

    Just got off a phone call from my son and we talked for 3 hours. Best Father's Day present I could get.

    Got rid of all my ties, (but I like your bow tie·erco, must learn to tie one of those someday).

    Whit, a Fluke! you must have dropped that name a time or two. tongue.gif

    I called my Dad and spoke for a half hour. My kids gave me home made gifts. My daughter made a clay guinea piggy bank and my son did a drawing and card.

    Jay,

    Good station. I have been using it for about 5 months. No complaints. Extra tips can be had here:

    I just got the 5-tip package for 25 bucks. Should last for a few years.

    @erco - yeah - sneaky huh?

    @hover1 - yes, I whispered it in my wife's ear while she was sleeping. Fluke, fluke, fluke....

    The best gift was being together. We all went and saw Toy Story 3.

    My dad, who lives close to my brother a couple hours from here, is 93, can't hear or see well, is stooped with arthritis, walks with a cane, and LOVES playing the slots! So I picked him up, and we went to a nearby casino. He worked the one-arm bandits while I worked the Sunday crossword in the lounge (neither of us having much luck, BTW); we gorged ourselves on overpriced (but pretty good) casino buffet food; and, after I fetched the car from the parking lot, he showed up at the main entry foyer with a bag from the gift shop:

    "What's in the bag, Dad?"

    "Cracker Jacks. 'Want some?"

    "No, thanks. I bet you just bought it for the prize," I teased.

    "Nope. I just like Cracker Jacks."

    Who's gonna argue with that?

    So I spent four hours driving in the rain, my clothes reek of stale cigarette smoke, and it was totally worth it! We had a nice visit, Dad had a blast at the casino, and he's probably munching on Cracker Jacks and watching "Antiques Roadshow" as I write this.

    Did I get any Father's Day cards? Nope: 'skated by yet another year. Phew! smile.gif (But my cat, Browser, was glad to see me when I got home!)
