Expected life of El'wire?

My buddy Bryan brought me some flatbed scanners to scrap out. (too much plastic for standard recycling)
Among the really nice steppers and parts I gleaned, I pull two really nice dual el'wire setups from the lids
of two of the units. (Looks like they were designed for lighting negatives from above the scanner.)
Each set has a nice 12v step up supply and two wires (bright white!)
I'm curious if anyone knows the expected life of these? I assume they are for short term use given
what they were originally used for. They generate quite a bit of heat.
Shall I bring some stepper motors to UPEW? :)

I've given up on them if that's as long as they last.

I use the CCFT ones for 12V mobile strip lights for field day ...

LOL
Thank you! I do know the expected life of a typical CCFT and these should come in handy in a project or two.
