Must Have Tool

OK, As an avid forum reader and sometimes poster, I thought I would share someyhing with the entire forum. I just purchased a tool that is already helping with my stamp projects. I do not normally do this, but having just received my new pen style microscope/camera I had to tell everyone. This thing is AMAZING. I no longer have to squint to see my parts, IC's, part numbers, etc. I got it on EBay for $99.00. I thought the price was a little steep until I got it and put it to use. This thing will be in my toolbox frpm now on. No, I do not sell these on EBay nor do I work for the people in China that do. I just thought everyone should know about this fanatastic tool!!! Can even see my teeth, throat, etc. just like the doctors!!!!!

This would be great for the Sandbox, but you didn't put a link to the auction. What keywords would you use to find it?

Yea I thought of putting in Sanbox, but I actually purchased it to help out on my Basic Stamp projects. Here is a the link to one of them. I just did a search for USB microscope and this came up.

That is pretty cool. A few months ago my old house was broken into, one of the things they stole was my borescope which gave similar views to this device. If only they put that camera onto a flexible shaft...

Too bad about the house being broke into. I do video surveillance out of my home for a living. Have my house covered pretty well. Technology these days is awesome to say the least. Have it set so when i leave my indoor cameras send motion to an FTP site, in case they get my system that contains the video. Any how, the flexible idea would be great. Maybe I will email them and suggest that. I know they make snake cameras that are flexible, but they do not have the microscope capability. Even at only 1.3 MP, I am still very happy with the quality of this unit. They also include tools to check your teeth, ears and nose!!!!

erco, I looked at that one also, but it is not going to get to the places that the pen version does. This thing would be great for pretty much any profession, from Auto Mechanic to Zoo Keeper!!! It has a light on the end of it. I do video surveillance for a living, and am already thinking of ways to attach this to a pole for running cable in walls, etc. I think the possibilities are endless. As W9GFO pointed out, an even better option would be on a flexible shaft. I have e-mailed the company in China and recommended that. However, a hacker could probably tear this one apart and do it, but they say not to open it up as it may ruin it, but hackers did not become hackers by following instructions!!!

Guess I should have looked a bit deeper, as there is a flexible one!! Oh well, I am happy with the one I bought. One nice thing is that the $68.00 ones look to be plastic. The $99.00 one is all metal, which may not make a diffeence to some, but is a bit sturdier. Good searching
