Does any know where I can get a plastic enclosure complete with a selector switch, push puttons and LCD display?· I'm thinking about getting a sprinkler controller and gutting that.· If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them.
Thanks,
Bob

"puff"...... Smile, there went another one.
Step drill bits $10
Handheld Nibbler $7
Needle File Set $3
Hobby knife set with different shape blades $3
With this basic set of tools, you can make some pretty nice cases for your projects. The two boxes attached were done with only the above tools. I try to stay away from the Dremel tool, because I end up doing a lot of damage with 30,000 RPM on plastic (or in flesh as displayed in my left thumb currently).
There are several ways to get nice cheap boxes:
An actual manufacturer: Polycase(my personal favorite), Serpac, Pactec, Bud Industries, Hammond Mfg, Twin Industries, and Jameco Valupro
Or, like you said, harvest an enclosure from something else. I have an old case from an external USB DVD-Drive that is in my pile for a propeller project. The nice thing about it, is that it has a 120V input, 12v/5v output power supply built into it. It has a very sleek/smooth design and since it housed a DVD drive, the front has a rectangular cutout that I can use desktop PC drive opening covers to make front panels.
