USB Oscilloscope

Just picked this up and playing with it. I am using SoundArb as the input, the scope is freezing up after about 15 seconds at 1 kHz input signal, getting the trigger hourglass. I have to stop it and then unplug/insert the USB cable to get it to respond again.
W/out an external trigger can I view this simple 1 kHz sinusoidal waveform? 60 Hz. is no problem, if I increase the time span I start getting momentary trigger hourglasses but they improve as the time resolution increases.
Thanks.

If you are getting the trigger hourglass, you aren't necessarily frozen, but perhaps·the plot is not updating. There are a variety of reasons this could happen, depending on your scope settings. Assuming you are using the 5.1.1 software, look in the Help FAQ.
My plot is not updating. What could be causing that?
- Make sure the power supply is connected to your signal-generating device.
- Make sure you have the correct channel and probe connected to your circuit.
- Make sure that the Trigger Source is set to the correct channel.
- Check to see if the channel's Trigger Voltage Slider is set outside of the signal's range; if it is and your Trigger Acquisition mode is set to Normal, your plot will not update.
- You may have the Horizontal Knob set to a large scale.· Remember that the wait time necessary to acquire enough data to fill the buffer is equal to 3x the horizontal time base.· So, when set at 1s/DIV, a minimum of 30 seconds will elapse between plot updates.
- Make sure the USB port is connected; go to Hardware Installation.
I hope this helps!-Steph

All seems to be in order. I get 10-12 sec of data before the trigger hourglass appears. I even set the time to the minimum and there wasn't much difference. Here is a screen cap:
I guess I am $140 SOL.
