Bluetooth modules to transmit audio stream?

Anybody have an idea whether it is feasible to use the standard Parallax Bluetooth modules to transmit a low bandwidth audio stream (voice only) with very little latency. The range will be less than 50 metres or around 120 feet. Or maybe you know of some other RF device/module that would be suitable.

I'm not sure about any bluetooth device range and bandwidth, but the XBee modules transfer data up to about 250K bits/sec. They advertise up to a mile outdoors with the higher power device (60mW) and run $20 to $35. These devices are extremely easy to configure.

The ZigBee series 2 specs up to 2 miles and 1Mb/s!

I'm sure I can get audio streaming through the XBEE easily enough, it's that I am more worried about QOS and maintaining low latencies so that the audio would not need to be overly buffered so that it will be close to real-time if possible. There has been a point made elsewhere about the ease-of-use of the series 1 vs series 2 and so I think I would try out series 1 first.

Bluetooth has support for audio through synchronous channels, you need bluetooth modules that support it though see http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8771
