Yesterday, i was just looking around the Plymouth, NH Radio Shack when i decided to go check out their component drawers. Upon opening the IC/ Sensor drawer, i was shocked. I found the Parallax Serial RFID reader for only 10 bucks. At first i though it was to good to be true, but after i got another item and proceeded to the checkout, the cashier confirmed it. I was so excited. the normal price on Parallax is like 42 bucks or something, and i got it for 10. I was also kind of pleased to see that Radio Shack had other parallax stuff to(Although more expensive). They had the PING sensor, the PIR motion sensor, dual axis accelerometer and the Basic stamp starter pack. I think it would be really cool if Radio Shack could offer more Parallax·stuff
like the Propeller, EEPROMs, more sensors And even some basic logic gates and shift registers. It is much easier to go to a store, instead of waiting forever and paying for shipping on the Internet.....

Are you located in the US? I'm always astonished at how fast I get things from Parallax to here in Maryland. I often get things shipped to me via US mail and it's not unusual for me to receive things in 2 or 3 days for less than 1 dollar in postage. And I don't live in a city.

Yeah, i live in New Hampshire. I was referring to Internet purchasing as a whole. It usually takes 4-5 days for most of my stuff( Mouser, Parallax, Sparkfun, Amazon, Robotshop, E-Bay). Even at 2-3 days, it is still quicker to drive to a store.

I hit the return button too fast.........

I think the Plymouth Rad Shack is· owned by the same guy wo owns the New London Store.
He carries more stuff than the usual company Shack.

Digikey and the likes are a few UPS days away, unless you want to pay for red service.
But a small price to pay to live in the boonies!!
