Hello all,

I'm thinking of purchasing·this·pocket size oscilloscope (ARM DSO Nano) There·are some different model and looks of the
ARM DSO Nano·oscilloscope. Here·at·RobotShop,·ARM DSO's description claims that ARM DSO has·two channel, where I've
not read or seen, anything about·two channel·at other manule descriptions!

I don't know about the hardware, but·the software is open source and there·are a lot of copy of it, so I really don't know which
one to get!·I·would like to know if·someone has try·this partable oscilloscope·or what do you think about it?

Bandwidth is only 1 MHz, which isn't much use.

    Thanks, Leon.·

What should someone look for in an oscilloscope?

I use a Tek 2315 100 MHz scope which I bought second-hand many years ago.

I used a TEK 2235 100MHz scope for many years, and it served me well. For serious digital work, I wouldn't go any lower than 100MHz, though.

    It's actually a 2235! I agree with the 100 MHz minimum.

    Leon,

Have you ever had to replace the plastic cam shafts behind the 2235's rotary switch dials? They seem to fatigue rather easily, then fail to make contact with the onboard tactile switches. I've already replaced one and now need to do it again before selling it or giving it away.

The timebase switch has got more intermittent in different positions over the years. They make contact with a bit of fiddling, but it's annoying. Where do you get the parts from?

I got the replacement cam shaft directly from Tektronics in Portland, Oregon. It's been many years ago, though. So I don't know whether they still carry parts for this scope.

The consensus on the Tek lists seems to be they've completely abandoned the 2xxx scopes. There are a few guys around that seem to have the remainder of Tek's old stock and sell it on an as-needed basis. There are also quite a few places on Ebay that scrap scopes as required and sell on the parts at an insane mark up.

I've picked up a 2440 a year or so ago. Best investment I ever made.
