Parallax Serial Terminal Freezes

I'm trying to use the Serial Terminal at 115200 through a USB comm port talking to a a USB2Ser converter into a Propstick to send commands and retrieve data but the terminal keeps freezing up. It happens when I hold the Return key down to repeat my command. It seems like the transmit buffer might be overflowing. The Serial Terminal hangs and will no longer respond to commands. When I end the program It takes about 30 seconds to close as if a watchdog timer is timing out and then asks if I want to send an error report. I have tried different Baud rates to no avail.
Any Ideas on work arounds or what might be going on would be most appreciated.
I'm running WIN XP 32 Pro with USB 2.0 Serial
