This is a project I've been working on for a while. The idea was to build some form of quad for cheap.
the body is foamboard and hot glue
the servos are S3004
the controller is the psc

here is a good video

here is a bad video

The S3004 is good for 58 oz/in and it isn't enough, what servos should I put in it? Keeping in mind that i need 12 of them =o)
I tried to make the body out of a thin abs, but it was very heavy
I will need to replace the psc with something like a ssc-32 in order to get all the joints moving at once.

Besides for the cluttered servo wires this is awesome! I can't belive you made this out of foam! you should take this apart and then trace the parts onto fiberglass then cut em out! or you could buy some fiberglass and then the resin and do that part yourself! OR even make it out of old PCB circut boards!!!(That would be REALLY cool!)

Old PCB... that's a great idea...

I ordered some servos (240 oz/in compared to the 58 oz/in from the video) and plan to install them this weekend. Maybe in the meantime I'll start digging around for some old PCBs...

I got the new servos today, Power HD 1501MG. 17.0 kg-cm (no, its not a typo). i plugged one in and instantly overloaded my 900 mA power supply. Once my batteries were charged i tried again with my multi in the mix. it pulls about 800 mA just moving, no weight on it. This should be fun.

This thing's held together with HOT GLUE? My dad hates it when I put stuff together with hot glue.

I original put it together with screws, but realized it was pointless. None of the pieces i glued need to move, and hot glue was the best choice. the glue melts with the foam, making it very strong and flexible.

8 of the new servos are in:

I dont think i need to replace the last 4.

it pulls about 5 amps moving around. Now i need to teach it how to walk.
