Holly the Geophone I Made back in 2005 was LVDT coil based .
It was a solder wick spool that I reused in to a bobbin [noparse]:)[/noparse] .
I wound it with 28 AWG Mag wire and I used it with a Osc I made to resonate.
It was used like a metal detector ,, If the Slug ( moveing member of dectoor) was at rest( mid span) the output would be around 1V but with
but with the Slug comming closer to the coil it would increce the V to 1.5V
and full out was .5V ..
