433 MHz RF Transceiver

Has anyone seen an Object to send and receive data using the 433 MHz RF Transceiver?

I would like to use this transceiver in a Stingray project. I am modeling it after 'CoolBot' and need to be able to remotely send a series of string characters to the Stingray.

If I remember previous threads correctly, you can use the object at this URL: obex.parallax.com/objects/183/.
Tie together the TX and RX lines, installing a 1k resistor at the TX line.

    MacGeek117,

Thank you, but that object is too unstable, from what I have read.

    Hi hover1,

I took a look, but it's not going to work for me. I was hoping to find an Object that I could use out of the box, so to speak.

Thanks for your thoughts and time.

    Best regards,

You won't find anything "out of the box". There'll always be parts that you'll have to modify for your specific needs. In the case of the 433MHz Transceiver, the amount of error checking and possibly error correcting varies widely depending on the application needs.

I think someone translated the existing BS2 code for this transceiver into Spin for the Propeller. I don't think it was ever put into the Object Exchange because it wasn't finished up. I suggest you browse the Propeller forum for related threads. Beau may have done it.

    Mr. Green,

Thank you very much. I will do as you have suggested. Also I'll try to contact Beau.

    Best regards,
