RC Car/Truck Help

So I went garage saleing yesterday. Picked up a Stalker RC car W/Remote and a Extreme Baja F-150 4x4 without remote for $6.00. Thought they were going to be dead, mostly bought for the batteries. Any how, I charged up the batteries and they work great. Only problem is that there is only one remote that is for the car. Here is my question. Since both are running on 27MHz, how hard would it be to mod the truck to be able to work with the remote? Is it just a transistor or resistor or something that controls the exact frequency? I am assuming if i tried enough 27MHz controls I would eventually find one that would work, but I thought if I could just mod the RC board on the truck that would make it easier. I would not be running both at the same time, so that would not be an issue. I know the truck works because it has lights and sounds and all that is functioning. Thanks if you can help.
