Three axis accelerometer

I just started using the propeller chip so these may be "dumb" questions, but bear with me.· I have been building a BS2P40 controlled R/C submarie (11 foot long, 12 inches in diameter).· The chip is kind of wormy for my tastes but the Prop chip looks amazing.

· Question is this.· Will the 3 axis Accl chip on the Parallax website allow me to do the following in fresh water down to a depth of no more than about 4-5 feet.· Pitch and roll traking to keep the boat on an eve keel and the Z axis to maintain a constant depth>· I have been looking for a pressure sensor to measure water depth but wonder if the accl chip would also work??

Pitch and roll yes but I doubt you could get the depth reading to be reliable.

Thanks Stephen, I kinda suspected that might be the case.· Now the search for a suitable pressure sensor.
