Propeller based light controller, the Griswold FX - Rudolph 16

Thought I might show off a little project I have been working on. It is a 16 channel, DMX-512 light controller. I call it the Rudolf 16 by Griswold FX :)

Below is a Youtube video of 6 channels in action. (I didn't have any more lights hanging around the workbench) It's being controlled by a software called Vixen with another propeller as the "DMX director".

If you are prone to seizures, you may not want to watch this video :)

Hopefully I will have everything finalized with it in the next couple of months. I will likely be offering kits for sale.

I, too, am a fan of Vixen -- we (EFX-TEK) use it for more than lighting control (KC is a friend of ours and has kindly written some custom plug-ins). We're updating our RC-4 (4-channel AC fader board) to the Propeller (has an SX now) and are adding RS-485 as well as TTL serial input. With RS-485 we can support DMX (we have an address switch on the board, too) as well as Renard (big with the DIY Christmas crowd), MODBUS, etc.

Very cool! I too built a DMX prop based dimmer that I run from Vixen. I would assume you have been over to doityourselfchristmas. I have three of my prop based lighting projects posted there.
