Hi,

I Just received my first order from parallax. I am proceeding through the StampWorks projects to get familiar. I am having difficulty with using the high order I/O P8-P15. StampWorks Experiment #9 , will not read an input to P15 connected to a momentary switch. My configuration is a BS2p40 and a PDB model 28138. i have no other devices and the PDB is as configured from the factory. What have I missed?

Regards,

Bob

    Bob,

You need to read the documentation to see the way the I/O are mapped between a BS2 24-pin module and 40-pin module. Some lines are routed down to the SX I/O header.

    Chris,

Thanks for your reply. I've read the table on page 6 of document "Professional development Board (#28128)" and I'm still confused. Can you just tell me where I can find P15 in my configuration if not on X15?

    Thx,

    Bob

Since X15 has only 16 connections it cannot handle all 32 I/O pins for a 40-pin BASIC Stamp module. 0 through 15 on header X15 are normally connected to P0 through P15 on the BASIC Stamp 24-pin modules. When you plug a BS2p40 in though the AUX pins A8 through A15 are now located on X15 pins 8 through 15. The MAIN I/O P8 through P15 are now on the header labeled AUXIO at RB0 through RB7 while the AUXIO pins A0 through A7 are located at the AUXIO header at RC0 through RC7. The table shows M0 through M15 representing MAIN I/O pins M0 through M15 and AUX I/O pins A0 through A15 with the new destinations right below them. I hope this helps.

Don't sweat it one bit, it happens a lot with the BS2P40 and PDB.... Here's my thread from the same experience.
