Flash animations?

When I click on the "FLASH" button when posting, a window comes up that says:

"Flash animations are disabled on this forum."

Why is that?

Support for Flash was disabled because of the number of reported issues of compromised content. Adobe continues to address the issue, but it has not been resolved.
