Extreme shipping cost on ebay items to Canada

Just wondering if anyone could explain why the cost to ship Parallax ebay items to the US·is $8.00 and to Canada is $45.00 (worldwide is $65.00!).. If I buy new product from the store I don't get charged 100%+ shipping.

    Hello,

    With our Ebay auctions, we must do a flat fee and we chose UPS because of the insurance and ease of replacement. If you win several auctions, your cost would still be $45 and not $45 per auction. Of course if your bids are heavy, your shipping may be adjusted a bit to cover the shipment.
    $45 is not a marked up price and we lose on many of the shipments we send out. Trust me, our Ebay auctions are not a big money maker for Parallax.
