Basic stamp dmx

I have a DMX controlled light and I was wondering if there is a way to make the Basic Stamp Control the DMX light I have.

    No, not really.· DMX serial rate is 250kbps and that that's just too fast for a Stamp.

    Can I use a different parallax micro controller to do it?

    Look at the Propellor. Check the object exchange for some DMX objects. (obex.parallax.com) The Prop can handle DMX directly with the addition of one buffer IC.

    I haven't used DMX out of the Prop yet, but I believe that it can.· I have used DMX in to the prop for a more in depth relay controller controlled by DMX.· It used one channel of DMX to basically give a BCD code out on 4 relays.

    I used to use the Stamp for several projects, but since learning the Prop, I havn't gone back. I still have a few, but basically the Prop is much cheaper, and does 100x more things then the stamp can.
