Hi, this is for the picaxe pro's but i am thinking of starting the picaxe for smaller projects beacause of it's cheap chip and easy programming, but the programing cords are so pricey (like $15-20!!!) and i was wondering since the BS1 uses a pic if the BS1 Serial adaptor (http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/44/Default.aspx?txtSearch=basic+stamp+1) is compatible with the picaxe 8 pin modules and the other more pin modules for programing.

The BS1 Serial Adapter is intended for use with a BS1. This uses a PIC as its microprocessor, but the programming process doesn't change the PIC. The Stamp Basic interpreter that's preprogrammed into the PIC has a download routine in it. This downloads the user's interpretive code into the 256 byte EEPROM that's part of the BS1 module. The PICAXEs work completely differently.
