Hello all,
PureSense is a company based in Oakland and Fresno, California. The company provides information to farmers that helps them use resources as efficiently as possible. The farmers' main interface to this information is software we design in-house, backed up by powerful analytics. However, all this relies upon data that we collect from the fields. At each field site, a Parallax Basic Stamp-based controller/data-logger collects environmental data from sensors once every 15 minutes. The data is then delivered wirelessly to our servers via a cellular modem.
PureSense is still a small company - a team of around 30 very intelligent and dedicated individuals - but we are growing rapidly: we have roughly doubled the number of customers and field sites each year since our start in the agriculture market in 2006. We now have over 800 deployed units in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona and Texas. We are very happy about our growth, but we are hitting some barriers in terms of resources available to develop firmware for our field units. We are looking for help to in the following areas:
- building firmware "drivers" for new sensors
- firmware development projects to interface with peripheral technologies (e.g. short range radios/Mesh)
- clean up and optimization of current firmware
- firmware development for upcoming major hardware revisions that will incorporate not only the Basic Stamp, but the Parallax Propeller as well.
If you are interested in a contract or possibly contract-to-hire opportunity to assist us, please contact me at gallen@puresense.com. If you live in California, that would be a plus, but it is not necessary. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Gian Allen
