Here is the promised work/test stand for the Stingray. I have attached an Instructions and Plans PDF and some pictures of the completed project. I have kept it as simple as I can, but think it is better that using a cardboard box.

Please post any questions you may have.

I hope Whit will think it good enough to add to the Stingray Resources Forum located here http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=10&m=442984

Hope this helps with your work on the Stingray.

Tony

Looks great Tony. I love the use of the Prop Beanie sticker too...

Excellent. That's one of the first things you find you need, once you have your robot working. Otherwise, it tends to skittle off everywhere.

    Thanks for the comments all.·
When I started with the BOE-BOT I nearly lost it off the table because I was focusing hard to get the movement code right.· Forgetting that it was setting on the wheels, I downloaded the code and it took off.· I just verily saved it.· That's why I use work/test stands.

I think every person building a wheeled robot has done this once or twice. It's REALLY not obvious when you begin that this can happen, but once you program it for motion and it dives off the table, the "Of COURSE I need a test stand!" idea comes to everyone.
