RFID to read your pets dog ID tag implants?

Hi guys I purchased the Parallax usb RFID kit I was wondering I got it to work with the demo program but I tried to read my dogs ID chip of course it didn't work but what would I have to do to be able to read it.. I am referring to the ID chip the vette places into your pet for IDing the dog if it gets lost or stolen.

The vet ID is probably NOT the same type and frequency as the parallax reader so they don't communicate.

also the vet chips don't always stay in place and even with the professional scanners can not always be scanned later on.

Mikediv,

The Parallax setup is 125kHz, and the pet tags use 134kHz. Also, some pet tags are encrypted, which the Parallax reader can't decipher. There are a number of posts in this forum addressing this (some of which I partake in myself). I was working on this, and will work on this in the future. I have not gotten it to work yet. Once I finish my house and all my stuff gets unpacked, I will again.
