I want to send information through a hand held radio, but I don't know the best way to interface with it's mic input/audio output with the propeller. Could anyone help me out?

The Propeller Backpack is ready-made for just this application. The main documentation pdf on the product page shows how to wire a cable to connect to Yaesu (and other) HTs. In the OBEX, there's an object that emulates a Bell 202 modem, which works very well with the Backpack. This thread includes some info about the modem object; and, down the page, there's a photo of the Backpack connected to a Yaesu HT.

    Have fun!

Thanks for that, the schematic helps a lot. I'll probably have to make my own code though, because to keep things small and cheap I'm planning on using a pic or something similar in the remote then pick it up by the Prop. Will see what happens, it'll definitely be all knew for me. Good practice for college I guess.

Ken, I wanted to buy two of those modems from Tigertronics, and sent a request to them on prize and shipping to Norway (Europe).

Here is what they said to me:
Thank you for your email. Regarding your question about the RTX modems,
unfortunately these are not RoHS compliant, and cannot be shipped to
your country. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
    Thank you.

Moskog, don't worry about it. I can ship them to you. These can fit nicely in a small box and be sent USPS without any problem whatsoever.

Contact me off-line kgracey@parallax.com and I can get them for you. I have known the product engineer for many years.
