Hi Everyone

Is it possible to use any universal remote control to program BOE BOT with IR or it has to be SONY TV remote that is prescribed by the parallax?

Please help.

Thanks

When you say program, do you mean control? If so, then Yes! But you will set the universal to as a Sony type remote. I have a RCA Universal remote that I use. It has a book of codes that you enter to set if for different remote types.

Per Whit, any universal remote set to function as a SONY TELEVISION remote will work with the Parallax-provided IRREAD routine. You could also make other IR protocols work, if you know the coding sequence. I·am not aware if anyone has·listed any routines for any other brand, but it should be possible.

Thanks, everyone for your input. I think going with Sony TV remote is the good option for me as I am naive to the robotics.
