REV statement

While looking for alternate ways to do the same thing for my previous post, I read through the page for REV in the propeller manual. It won't help for that problem but my curiosity piqued. What is this statement useful for? I can't think of anything but surely it is or else Chip wouldn't have included it.

I've actually found it very useful in certain cases, although I too didn't see the value at first...
I'm trying to remember where I needed it, but am drawing a blank...

Certain Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms generate the coefficients in a bit-reversed order, so REV would be good for that.· There are also cases where serial data is transmitted in a bit-reversed order.· I recall an application where an A/D was wired with the bits swapped around, and the REV instruction was used to get the bits in the right order.

It's great for graphics. The waitvid outputs pixels "backwards".
