Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone out there has interfaced a bluetooth module to program the propeller?

The module I am looking at is the Bluegiga WT11.

Cheers
Helen

I know using 'search' is a PIA, but I recall there was a thread about the same topic as yours. If I recall, it was determined that it is not possible, or at the very least not feasible. So, you may want to try the 'search' thing, unless somebody remembers that thread. and can link to it.

    Hi Ray,

Thanks for the reply. I had used the search but forgot to change the search date option so only got one result that wasn't too helpful. I went back and tried again and found lots more! From reading through these I gather that timing issues make it hard to use a bluetooth interface with the propeller programming port.

However there was one post that seemed to suggest it may be possible to download data via a bt module connected to the prop i/o's to write the program data to a secondary eeprom. The prop could then copy the data from the secondary eeprom to the program eeprom. Have I understood this correctly?

    Thank again.

I used a bluetooth module before (I think it was from Sparkfun). It just worked as if it were a serial port...

Forum search is kind of useless unless you have one and only one word for the search.
Use Google search for example ... site:forums.parallax.com/forums "f=25" program propeller bluetooth

Unfortunately, a consistent speed serial connection is required to program propeller. Bluetooth serial speed is not consistent.

May you create something useful, even if it's just a hack.

I think you could update the firmware in the same way that the YBOX does...
