Hi everyone

I have seen a video on You Tube where a pair of Boe Bot shoot basket balls. Here is the link:

Is it possible if anyone knows what kind of accessories of Boe-Bot they are using.

I want to do something similar or same but unable to find any information on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

True, both robots should be dribbling the ball at all times. Version 2.0!

Better yet, a little robot referee should come in from the side blowing a tiny whistle and pointing at the one that's traveling.

    NewEducator,
Although there are not any real good close-ups of the bots it appears that they are using standard servos to control the release of the balls into the shooter and to shoot the ball.· The shooter BOT does seem to be using some sort of mechanical advantage to increase speed of the arm.· As mentioned above they seem to be communicating using IR transmitter and receivers (two of each are included in BOE-BOT Kit).· As for the line following, they’re using something like the QTI Sensor.· The rest of the stuff looks like PVC, Cardboard, tape, screws, scrap metal and a lot of good creative thinking.
I have listed the Parallax part numbers for the items mentioned above.· You will find a manual and often code to help you get started.· Good Luck and don’t forget to post your results on the forums
    Standard Servo - 900-00005
    IR Transmitter - 350-00017
    IR Receiver - 350-00014
    QTI Sensors - 555-27401

Thanks, Tony. Your reply really helps. But I am not sure what kind of accessories shooter bot has used. Like, shooting arm..and where do you get these accessories.

    NewEducator,

I don’t know all they used, but the items you are referring to were built from scratch. I don’t know of any sources to buy a shooting arm. You will have to study the video and try replicating it with wood, plastic and/or metal. Many of these items can be found at either a good hobby shop or Home center.

very cool, and inspiring. Hmmm...how do you handle personal fouls with a robot?

I thought the First Law of Robotics made them impossible.

That is a great idea. Good ideas that are easily converted to real life applications.
