Propeller presentation @ Seattle Robotics Society
At this month's SRS meeting I gave a presentation on the Propeller. I ran a few demos and I think people were generally impressed by the Propeller's power. Unfortunately, I was not very successful in explaining the whole hub business, at least judging by the questions folks were asking. And my attempt at explaining Spin and the interpretation process just caused more confusion.
I was hoping to make a few converts, but now I'm just hoping I didn't scare anyone away!
In retrospect I should have stuck to demos and glossed over the nitty-gritty details. For an intro to the Propeller, it would probably have been better just to whet people's appetites.

I wouldn't worry too much. If you piqued a few people's interest, then in such an audience they will probably be intrigued enough to go and investigate for themselves. And then they'll be hooked!

You know what they say: actions speak louder than words. If you had some good demos, that's all they will remember. Six months from now, people in the audience will be showing you their Prop creations and talking at you like the Prop is something you have never seen before.
Even ONE is more as nothing. You first impression CAN be that it is only few BUT You need consider as YOU even have to sowed ideas in them that not show any interest.

Nothing is impossible, there are only different degrees of difficulty.
For every stupid question there is at least one intelligent answer.
Don't guess - ask instead.
If you don't ask you won't know.
If your gonna construct something, make it·as simple as·possible yet as versatile as posible.

We thank you for doing this presentation. It's often difficult to read a group's response, and there's a lot to discuss in 30 minutes around the Propeller.
I'm sure the exposure was positive.
Thanks for including the Prop!

These are things they are familiar with and can "visualize".
But sometimes even·that does not even work and my explanation winds up in total confusion!
