We·just finished the layout for a Prop Platform style board to drive our $10 touchscreens!
Here are·the main features:
Prop (6 unused pins)
3.5" LCD 60-pin connector
Full size SD card socket
amplified stereo heaphone jack
mounting holes for 4x AAA battery pack (on bottom)
Hope to have a prototype ready for UPEC...
Here's what the layout looks like (It was very difficult with just 2 layers!):

It's probably very similar to the STK1000 :)
Will find out in a few days if it works or not...
Update:· There's one major bug in this schematic!·· The VCOM output to the LCD should connect to the left side of R9 instead of the right side...· I.e., I should connect directly to Pin 1 of the LM8261.

Now, we have the +18, -8 and +5 voltages required to make it work.
Well, seems I forgot to order a few capacitors it needs and had to improvise.
Also, I made a horrible layout error and had to solder in the schottky diodes upside down.
And, the voltages are a little off, maybe because I'm using 5% resistors instead of 1%.
But, I'm just happy to get these voltages.· That was the major hurdle for getting these 3.5" touchscreens working...

It would be interesting to use this on top of another microcontroller... have the Prop handle the display, audio, etc., while another ucontroller does logic. I'll have to give it a whirl when these are ready.

Obsolutely perfect!!!
I've been trying to figure out what to use for my PropPhone audio.
I built a nice amplifier and it worked for everything... except my PropPhone:)

Just started work on the driver and made the backlight come on at least...

Display is rock solid and colors look good.
Just need to get rid of that one yellow line at the bottom...

Battery works, SD and audio appear to work...
Need to do some more code work to check things out, but things are looking pretty good now!
