Hi guys I can not find the post but a while back I thought someone posted here a link for some very cheap servos I think they were around 3 bucks a piece I went to ebay but I can not find any or any that make sense to me
why are some listed as digital servos?? aren't they all digital? If anyone has a link I would appreciate it . I have a project that needs 12 of them so I just want some cheapys just to see if it will even work.

Thanks guys.

most servos are analog. digital servos have a controler on board that can be configured. so you can set the motion range, speed, and other variables. digital servos are great for projects where you are just connecting to a generic remote control but the added expense is not worth it if you are using a microcontroller to control it since you can do everything yourself cheap.

Hobbycity.com has some pretty cheap ones. just make sure you buy one with enough torque.

And if you are going to use any digital servos with the new Parallax servo output boards with voltage translators, you will need a resistor in line with the servo signal connection. I have found between 1K and 10k works, so a 4.7K would be a good value.

No, some digital servos can be configured, not all. I would guess that most of them can not be configured.

well i could definetly be wrong. I only really started doing research into it a month ago when I started trying to find the cheapest best servos for a robotic Ant (25 8kg*cm servos) and a 3G Pixel Panoramic Robot(2x 1kg*cm servos)

Does anyone know if continuous rotating servos can give position control? or just directional?

Hey, this place has the cheapest servos hands down. This one is like $2.77, plus shiping. It is also very powerful for being so small.
