Scribbler Robot

Hello everyone, I'm looking to use the hacker port on the scribbler robot but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells how to use it via BASIC stamp editor code.

What I'm trying to do is interface my dragonboard microcontroller with the scribbler so that it takes input through the hacker port from dragon board, and depending on the input it gets, it will do different things.

If anyone can link me to something that could help, or could explain how to use the hacker port, I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks!

Parallax has helpfully posted the Scribbler schematics on their download page: http://www.parallax.com/tabid/458/Default.aspx

It is pins 8, 9, and 10 and on my circuit board the pin outs are silk screened on so I was sure which ones were Gnd, Vbat, Vcc versus the pins. I've read that when you use the hacker port pins it is best to disconnect the LED's to avoid electrical effects that can cause problems. In my thread I did that using a DPDT switch so I could do and undo the modification.

Here's my Scribbler Robot hacking thread: http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=10&m=420242 and it also contains a link to Erco's encoder hacking thread, as well as tips on how to cut the ribbon cable to isolate the LED lines.

It would be neat if you kept us up to date on your modifications as I might try them with my Scribbler! I found hacking Scribbler to be harder than building another robot from scratch, as there's not much space inside the shell!

I was able to connect my BS2 to my SCRIBBLER via the serial port. Here's kinda how I did it...
