Ethernet Suggestions...

I have a few questions about getting my prop connected to the internet.. My first prop was the YBOX2 which is a great little setup, but now I wanted to make my own, so here's my question..

The enc28j60 implementation are reasonably priced parts wise, but cost a lot in overhead ( programming the stack etc ) in resources.. So is the wiznet 5100 a better way of implementing Ethernet to a prop project?

I have yet to see any code for it, I should look harder..

Anyone have any thoughts, opinions on this??
