We live in a 800 sqft apartment , space is a commodity
During spring cleaning I was able to make enough room for a workbench
My wife is happy to have the kitchen table back : )

There was a great thread a while back where everybody posted there workspaces - It had lots of good ideas. Chris Savage has a section on his forums with pics of his workspace.
