Prop paired with Ramtron FM31L278 Processor Companion

Well, I finally got my ramtron chip soldered up to a SIOC-20 to DIP adapter and I've been working on it all day.

The EEPROM was simple enough, just a drop-in replace, but the other functions on the chip I'm having LARGE amounts of trouble getting them to work.
And by LARGE amounts, I mean, I can't get any of them to work. I tried using the DS1307 object from the obex as an example, and for reading, it seems to do ok.
The real problem seems to be the slight differences in how to do things like set the time and date, enable low power reset, the two extra counters, etc.

I don't have a large amount of experience with I2C, so I was hoping someone who had already done this could give me some pointers, or even if someone already had objects built, but not in the obex, that would be great too.

I do have to say, so far, it seems to be a really cool chip. As I said, not a drop in replacement as far as form factor, but when you start looking at custom boards, 64K EEPROM, RTC, LV Reset, Watchdog timers, EPF warning, and all in a 3.3v SOIC14 package. It looks perfect for some things I'm considering.

Thanks in advance guys.

Without a propeller chip within arms reach....I think I'd go into withdrawls. burger.gif
