http://why.openoffice.org/index.html

Sun Microsystems offers a fairly Microsoft-compatable office package call OpenOffice - for free!· I say "fairly compatable" as I haven't explored every single corner of the toolset yet.· I've had no problems with moving back/forth between OpenOffice Writer and MS Word, and OpenOffice Presenter and MS Power Point.· A nice thing for those that deal with creating documentation is that OpenOffice Writer can directly output PDF files.

Regards,

DJ

    its Lower cost/Free Open source . ( I donate )
and is cross platform OSX WIN LINUX Ect
so no huge issues with relearning different versions for each OS .. there all almost the same..

and its Icons unlike MS Office 07 are not this glossy junk taht is SO confusing to JUST use ..

I've been using OOo exclusively since it was Star Divisions StarOffice V5 in the early 00's. I swear by it and I use it often to repair broken office documents for others also.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should use WD40.
