32 LED driver IC from AUSTRIA MICROSYSTEMS - AS1108
HI,
I am looking at using this IC to drive 32 individual LED's ( for an industrial panel) the leds are arrange in 4 rows X 8 columns
AUSTRIA MICROSYSTEMS - AS1108 4 X 8 MATRIX LED DRIVER IC
It works similar to the MAX7219 64 led driver ic, but with 32 outputs ( 4 X 8) , I need blinking capabilities and MATRIX configuration.
I need to run 32 individual leds ( 4 different colours ), So ...
Q1) Would I have any issues running the driver ic and therefore the leds at 3.3V instead of 5V?
(It would probably have its own 3.3v regulator for both the IC and all the LED's)
Q2) Does maxim-ic have a similar 32 led matrix driver IC? The reason is the AUSTRIA MICROSYSTEMS IC is harder to get.
Q3) According to the DATASHEET if I run the chip at 5V, the input high minimum voltage is 0.7 X VDD , that means the 3.3v from the prop is not going to be enough, 0.7 x 5V = 3.5V!
thanks
Dave M
