Anybody coding by hand on Windows might be interested in HTML-Kit. It's a code based editor that has a lot of nice features. There is a free & paid version available.

You should try Joomla its free (Open source)

You can find lots of free templates or buy templates for it. It takes about 10 minutes with Joomla to set up a fully functional Dynamic site.

You can also get a Joomla Add-on called Virtue-mart, also free and open source that work works with paypal. All you need is a host provider with php and mysql support and you are in business.

    Good Luck!

I tryed HTML kit, but prefer notepad because this system is not very fast and notepad allows you to continue editing without altering your result or giving you complicated setup routines.

I have had only two viable website projects - both were Yahoo! site and I must say that I was very please with the software that Yahoo provided for development.

One site was several hundred pages of HTML that was ported over and updated from a defunct site that was revived.

While I did have to work around a few limitations in the software. I managed to do everything that was required with the free software and Yahoo! made keeping the site up 24/7 very easy. (Why have a server at home that might be attacked and hacked, when you can have Yahoo! provide attack protection?)

At the time, it was costing me about $12/month to keep up each site and running.

Linux offers a lot of alternatives that are also FREE in Windows. I wouldn't buy anything.
