Parallax for RC airplane?
I've got a FPV RC airplane project I'm doing for my own education. I need a microcontroller to handle encoding control signals to send to the radio (UART) groundside and another to decode signals from the radio to send to the servos on the airborne side.
Originally I tried using Gumstix COMs, but those were a bit too much for me. I have a BS2C, but I don't think basic will be robust enough to handle background and forground tasks, and keep all the data flowing on time. I decided on the Javelin controllers thinking these were the latest and greatest from Parallax, but I've read somewhere they have reached EOL.
Are the Propeller microcontrollers comperable? Perhaps even more capable than Javelin? I would like a higher level language than BASIC, but only because I'm not sure it is robust enough. With an airplane I have very little room for lag or delay.
I haven't done too much reading on the Propellers. Any suggestions?
