Cheaper shipping from Parallax?

Is there any chance that Parallax could look at offering USPS as an alternative to UPS for shipments within the US?

I would have liked to have purchased today's deal of the 3 axis accelerometer for $19.99, but shipping just for this tiny chip was $11.

It would be great if Parallax could just stuff it into an envelope for $4 or less...

    CSmith,

    See this thread - http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=889679

I always ordered from Parallax using UPS ground·shipping. I read that people in my area were getting packages cheaper and faster using U.S.P.S. I gave it a try - Sure enough - faster and cheaper. Can't beat that!

It is a choice in the pull down menu at check out. On a small item (a couple of Pings))) and Brackets and some misc hardward) to Louisiana, it was about $7. On something bigger it was around $17.00 - Still about $4 or $5 dollars cheaper than UPS ground·and both arrived in about half the time.

I made one order on Friday morning (it was a deal of the day) and got the package on Monday - Rocklin to Louisiana.

    Give it a try.

From Rocklin to LA area USPS for a small package (2 Xbees and 1 linear camera) was $2. It arrived in two days or so.

Wow! How in the world did I miss that?! redface.gif

Shipping for the accelerometer was $0.57.

Thanks Ken, and sorry for the temporary senility...

CSmith: I appreciate the confusion and your resulting post, otherwise I would have missed out on this terrific accelerometer deal and 57-cent shipping.
