Robot Education

Our local college has essentially dropped robotics from the curriculum.· I don't know how we can prepare kids for the future without at least having a robotics curriculum available... but apparently that's what is happening.· If you want to learn how to empty bed pans in a nursing home... we have that kind of curriculum available.· But if you·want a job in a small creative company that is making innovative new products, you are on your own in my area.

And we have largely·moved away from vocational training in our high schools.· So, if you want to learn how to use tools, that is either gone·or·on its way too.

What the kids do·have is the internet... and eventually, some of them are going to come here.· Most of what they want is already in the forums.... somewhere:)

If Parallax could find the resources and personal to do it... the World really needs some Parallax education about basic mechanics... and practical "how to" and "where for"

gear sets... how· to, why not, etc.etc.etc.· "Dremel.... as a precision tool." etc. etc. etc.

Nobody does this stuff as well as Parallax.

It isn't Parallax's job... it isn't what they do... but I wish they did.·

Or... maybe Parallax already has an education kit similar to the Propeller Education Kit and I just don't know about it?

Rich
