Hey Everyone,

I am sitting here at 10:45 p.m. on a weekend night·and was ordering a couple Pings))) and Protector Stands (to add to my Stingray so I can·play around with·Steve Norris' code).·I couldn't find the hardware I thought I needed to mount the Pings))) to the stand. A quick click or two and I have the Protector Stand documentation pdf that explains what is needed and what is already·included with the stand! It comes with everything I was looking for (the only thing it doesn't come with is mounts to the chassis - which would vary by robot platform). The screws , plastic light pipe, ·nylon spacers, washers are all included. It was easy to find and answered my questions.

My point is that without the·well-written·and accessible documentation - I would have been in the dark. My hat's off to Parallax for their excellent and easily accessible documentation in pdf. This, of course, includes most all their books and manuals.

I'd like to add thanks for all the great measured drawings of their products in the documentation that allows you build your own chassis and other parts. I can pop those numbers in my CAD program and make accurate patterns that letsme build parts with no guessing.

And that's just one of the reasons why I'm a Parallax customer.

    Whit and Tony,

We are so appreciative of the input, as it's something we strive to get right in our office. It's important for the drafters, editors and tech support crew to have the opportunity to be reminded that their contributions are important to our customers.

In all honesty, lately we've dribbled out some significant hardware without our normal documentation. I'm referring to the XBee product line - lots of hardware and only minimal code. We did the same with the new GPS modules. At the moment we're backing up to get these products properly documented with BS2 and Propeller code. We realize we were a little short on examples for these products so we're working to fix that problem.

For both of them we plan on releasing some detailed tutorials where a customer could jump in anywhere and load/run the examples.
