Annoying Serial Terminal message

I'm not sure what has triggered this, but my serial terminal has become a PEST. Whenever I click the Disable button, a message pops up and states:

Parallax Serial Terminal is disabled. Click the Enable button to reopen selected serial port.

So I click the OK button, and one second later it pops up again. Over and over and over and over again--unless I can click the Enable button fast enough.

I can see the flasing Enable button on the terminal when it is disabled so I really don't need this message at all.. Ever!

Is there a way to permanently suppress this from popping up??

Try going to Prefs and click on the restore defaults button.

@w8an, sorry, lost track of your thread. You get that message because PST is becomes disabled once it looses focus (when you go to another window). This is the default for PST and if you click on the "Enable" button when you return to PST you will not get the error message.

If you go to "Prefs", select the "Function" tab, and uncheck the "Automatically disable (close port) when the application is inactive" check box PST will remain active when it looses focus and you will not have to click on "Enable" or get that error message.

Of course every silver lining comes with a cloud, and since PST now holds that port open no other program can use it. This means that if you are using the propeller plug for serial data you cannot use the Propeller Tool to download programs without disabling PST first.

If this does not work you should uninstall the PST program from your PC, download a fresh copy and install it. Your current program may have been corrupted.

    Thanks kwinn.

The funny thing is that it didn't use to happen. It would disable (indicated by the flashing button) when it lost focus, but never popped up this message. Perhaps I'll just reinstall as you suggest.
