I am finding that the propeller is a great chip. People are asking me more question and asking me to do more with it. One frequent question is if a cog on the propeller can be arraigned as a USB HUB. Any one heard of this and do you think it is possible?

No, it's not possible. Do a web search for "Wiki USB Hub" for details

Mike, Yeah I am reading the wiki page now. Interesting stuff but I cant see any reason why at the moment. Is it because the props speed? Hum...

...Looks like you would have to specify the Device class, pick a Signaling rate (maybe USB 1.0) , Then use the Data packets correctly.

If you mean a USB host, it simply needs far too much code.

It's a combination of needing too much code and speed. The Propeller is fast, but everything has to be done with "bit banging" except for video output and USB is just a little too fast unless you add external logic.

Why would you want to? You can buy entire USB Hub-on-a-chip solutions for far less than the cost of the propeller chip alone. Use the right tool for the right job.

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should use WD40.
