Congrats Cenlasoft! I remember that thread from last year.

Too bad Parallax and Hanoware did not get mentioned directly, but WE know.

    Hi and thanks to everyone,
I mentioned Parallax and ViewPort many times, but the TV editors must have cut it out. I am trying to create a completed project to post to the prop forum for everyone to enjoy. I got a great deal of help from the forum members and I feel the project should be in the public domain. I enjoy learning about electronics and love Parallax products. My field of expertise is Archaeology, but I love Physics also. My final eddy current analyzer probe included a hall effect sensor. I will be showing this technology to law enforcement and other government agencies and will be offering my services free of charge in the near future. I will insure that I plug Parallax and ViewPort as well. I ordered and got a surface mount version of all the supplies needed to build my instrument in a smaller footprint. Thanks again.

This thread sounded interesting. I get a 404 error on the file at the TV station. Anyone have other pointers to forum threads or an active URL for the video?

Thanks Bob for the link- Curtis just sent me the same on. He's now using ultrasound to look inside objects with ViewPort and the Prop. Clever guy!

Very interesting. Thanks for digging up the link.

Is there any public discussion of his experiments with ultrasound that I might read?

    I also get a 404 error, could this be a Win7 x64 problem ?

Thanks for the other version, this was really interesting. I wonder if it would work on airplane bodies looking
    for stress cracks ?

    Jeffa-
Curtis is still busy inventing his ViewPort/Propeller/Ultrasound gadget- I'll post or get him to comment when he's done..

    Hi Bigfoot
Looks like we posted at the same time...
Here's what I understand from Curtis-
His sensor is very sensitive to changes in a metal's consistency. So sensitive, that it's able to resolve the slightly denser parts of a coin or gun where it has been stamped- a long time ago. So, he gets images even though the surface is completely smooth. Yes, I imagine that this could be used to detect cracks within a metal- even if the surface looks fine on all sides.
