no loopback?

Im new to the bs2 and to programming for that matter. I bought my bs2 on ebay and it came with the super carrier board. I wrote my first program, a simple debub program just to test it out, and it worked fine in the super carrier board. I wanted to put the stamp in my bead board so i could experiment with other setups without soldering wires and found a schymatic for wiring the 9 pin serial connecter to board and stamp. I have redone it twice and every time when I hit the identify button in the stamp editor it tells me yes for echo and no for loopback. im not sure why its not identifiying my stamp. I get yes for loopback and echo when everything is hooked to the super carrier board. I did wire the capasitors correctly too. I have checked myself at least 10Xs and its driving me crazy lol. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Loopback requires a jumper between two pins on the 9-pin connector (7-8, I think, but check the Parallax site).

    Cheers,
