Problems with Propeller font

Hello

I seem to be having a problem with the font when using the propeller tool.
Some characters are spaced close together so they are unreadable while others seemed to be widely spaced.
It makes the code very difficult to read. I have the same problem with objects from the obex or code I have written myself.
Changing the text bigger or smaller under preferences does not cure the problem. I have only noticed this problem since performing a restore on my PC.
Is it a font issue or something else ?

Tim

    Tim,

Since you just restored your PC, the Parallax fonts may not have transfered correctly. Try to reinstall the Propellor Tool and see what that does.

Thanks for that link - that is exactly the same problem I am having. I am using XP but have a laptop with XP that the propeller tool works fine on. Also all other programs on the desk top work fine as well. Looks like I may have lost the propeller font somewhere along the way.

I have had a wierd one one for a while now. The underscore character ( _ ) used for separating number groups doesn't show in Proptool or BST, it just looks like a space. I know it is there or should be there, but one day it will catch me out. If the sections are copied and pasted to notepad etc they are there.

It could be my monitors, they are identical LGs. Where the underscore is used as a part of a filename they show up OK, just not on the coloured bits

Have you tried knocking the font size up or down one point?

"Have you tried switching it off and back on again?"

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should use WD40.

    Thanks BradC.

Font up sized, and there they are. The monitors are rebuilt write offs 1440x900. I prefered my old 19" 4x3 1280x1024, but that failed and these were "free"

The Parallax Font has some broken point sizes. The Propeller tool won't let you select those particular point sizes, so I'm surprised the issue manifested itself with the Prop Tool.

When I did a "font size up" it went strait to 14pt which is a bit big on screen but the elusive ( _ ) was there. It's probably a combination of things. At least it will be good for proof reading and debug head scratching.

I installed the Propeller Tool for the first time yesterday, took all the default options, and fired it up for the first time today. I had exactly the same font problem. I looked for some way within the program to change the font and found nothing.

I came here, found this thread, deleted the Parallax font and now all is well. [Okay, I didn't delete it -- I simply renamed it.]

I just bought a new HP computer running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit, installed the latest Prop Tool and I'm encountering this identical problem.

I see where people perhaps fixed this problem by deleting the Propeller fonts from the Windows fonts. Can somebody give me a clue on how to do that?

I found the following info on this, which I presume will work with the Propeller font without causing the end of the world...
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1076-fonts-delete.html

Is this the right way to do this particular operation, or will the aforementioned procedure cause a total collapse of time and space creating a hole from which I and all civilization would never escape?

    thanks,
    :)
