2010 Propeller Contest: Who's playing?

I've been pretty open about my current project entry for the Propeller Contest.
My hope (more than simply winning something) is that it will act as a draw for new Propeller users.
It's about 7 days till deadline. I'm curious who and what others are working on.
Common share a little! It's so late in the game that I don't think anyone has to worry about
losing some "state secrets." :)
Anything that can be brought to an Expo?

I have two entries that are being crammed together this week. They will probably be at the bottom of the list as I have had some unexpected changes with time and resources to complete the actual end product and I was unable to work on them at all in January. Thus, my entries will barely meet the requirements. However, both entries will become products that I release to everyone and may do small production runs as well. I plan to have both at UPEW (and if possible, sent to you for UPEC/UPENE)
Entry 1, Codenamed Ursprung:
Propeller development board that enables both SMT and TH propeller circuitry (and both can be loaded at the same time for a dual prop board) that fits into an off-the-shelf enclosure that works both as a desktop and handheld enclosure. This project stems from the fact that you can't find an off-the-shelf enclosure to cleanly fit any currently available propeller development board.
Entry 2, Codenamed Skriva:
Propeller based, battery powered datalogger that stores to SD and can be configured on the fly by plugging into a TV monitor and using a click wheel on the device. It will have several digital inputs and 4 ADC inputs. The digital inputs can also be used as standard I/O for connecting devices requiring clocks, etc.
Neither design is an "awesome new use of a propeller" because the programs used on my demo circuits are very ordinary. All the "wow" for my entries comes from the board design and finished product design. For those wondering on the names, they are Swedish. Ursprung means "origin" and Skriva means "to scribe/write".

Following Micro's suggestion, I hope to enter Sphinx but only if I can fix the bug in the file system. I don't know if a software-only project counts, but it's really just to motivate me to find the bug. Unfortunately, the clock is ticking and I haven't found it yet!
I actually got three project numbers but at this point I doubt the third project will make it into the contest.

Don't click on this.....
@micro: the bug is that the file system occasionally creates duplicate files or corrupts files. I hope one bug is responsible for both misbehaviors. It's rare though, so first I have to figure out how to reproduce the bug reliably.
Jim
You can but ask for a late entry
I have almost finished getting SphinxOS running self-contained (SBC) with the new 1-pin video & 1-pin keyboard drivers. SphinxOS is a catalyst, as it allows drivers to redirect the I/O to an external device(s) such as another prop, etc, or the 1-pin video & 1-pin keyboard, only by changing the OS. ZiCog & Catalina SBC will follow shortly, and then hopefully we can get Bean's PropBasic. Where is Casslan's? PrEditor?
So, as you all know, it also relies on the input of great software from others too.
We will see

The motion controller is the impressive application for the Prop as this module needed to be true multitasking, each axis being driven by its own cog.· Being my first project for a Prop, I am very pleased with its performance and ease of use.· All around I think it is a very good demonstration of the Prop's power.
Here are links to some videos about it...

I am hoping to bring it with me to UPEC as I think it is a fun project to share and talk about. The bad news is that I may have to be traveling for work around the time of UPEC - I am doing what I can to prevent that though.

·
How many hours do you have into this project? It’s not something you can do in a weekend :)
Jim
You are correct, this isn't a weekend project - sort of.· I have only been able to work on it over the weekends and many of them.· I really have no idea how many days I have spent working on it but along the way I have learned many skills and it has occupied my time nicely.· While it is fully functional at this point, I am sure I will be spending many more weekends changing and refining it for better peformance and adding gadgets and gizmos.· It has certainly been a "hoot" :-)
Thanks again
Chris

If I had the time, I was going to use a real video camera instead of my digital "still" camera, but it seemed to do an okay job.· I am just amazed by what those little "still" cameras are capable of these days!
Chris
You should do very well in this contest!

Even though I am very proud of the machine and control, I know all too well how smart and good all the other propeller heads are (such as yourself). My fingers are crossed in hopes of some recognition in the contest.·
BTW, I think I read that the convention is on the second floor of that building.· Do you know if they have an elevator?· This thing could be carried up the stairs but it will be a workout.· I am probably going to have to build some sort of carrier to make hauling it a bit easier.· Currently there are not too places to get your hands on to carry it.
Chris
I believe so, but I'll find out for sure next week and PM you.

I would have to get moving though - only a few days till the final project is due in - IIRC 26th
And what about the software that goes with the RamBlade... ZiCog, Sphinx, fsrw,..... ???
BTW: I am about to post the 1-pin drivers for video & tv to the OBEX. Then to get them into Sphinx. Once in Sphinx, ZICog can run under Sphinx and get access automatically

Don't remind me... I zapped my first ever micro late last week, and the UPS 1-day delivery with some replacements is turning into 4-day delivery
4 pages into it and still going when I thought I better to check on what is required. OOPS · RT*M
<= 1 page for the description
Sample cases in the mail tonight. Hope the Translucent Blue one works
SphinxOS is working on TriBlade (just "DIR"). Now to transfer to RamBlade.
Then modify ZiCog to run under SphinxOS.
Hey guys & gals... I get an extra 11 hours before my project is due (11am Saturday here)· *** tongue-in-cheek ***
How are the rest of you progressing ???

I'm working on a small prop computer project but no plans to
contest it. Clusso99, sounds like the challenge you have is which
project to enter.

Pretty translucent boxes didn't show - just black :-(
