I probably clicked "OK" on forum rules and etiquette when I signed up to these forums, but now I can't find such a publication.

Are these forums intended for ONLY comments/questions/conversation directly related to Parallax products??

Is it proper for me to ask questions about circuit design or components if it is not a Parallax device? Technically my projects are connected to a BS2, that's why I joined the forums, but the questions or comments may not be ABOUT the Parallax components.

Thanks, I don't want to be annoying anyone at Parallax for improper use of this great tool you have.

near the top of the page is the help menu, that will take you to "Forum Guidelines".

These pages are for nearly any questions/comments on a wide range of topics.
Common sense encouraged, but not required. LOL

Feel free to bring up non-Parallax products, especially on how they interact with Parallax products.

You can always use·the Sandbox to ask questions not related to Parallax products. Kind of a free for all.

Well, there are still limits. You wouldn't ask a question there about the Arduino or PIC, for example, unless it related to a Parallax product at least tangentially. But there are other forums for those kinds of things, and you're likely to get better answers there anyway.

But having said that, the forum is pretty open and informal. Besides, forgiveness is easier to get than permission. smile.gif

There should be, not rules, but etiquette in general. Like, say, not to quote the entire subject post in the first post in a thread. (slows up your browser for nothing) and that you shouldn't overload a page with smileys. (I'm guilty. smile.gif)

There should be a list of simple things like this.

Very good. Thank you. At least I'm not stepping on toes here.

Have a good day, and thank you for pointing me to the guidelines link.

Yes, I agree, limits should apply or else it would get out of hand.

    So·should all·items·starting with the letter·X be·banned also.·tongue.gif

Say what?!!! X-rays, XBox, X Files all out of order? Well, okay, xylophones are definitely OT — unless they're hammered by Prop-activated solenoids. Maybe just items starting with "XM". smile.gif (But then we couldn't razz our friend across the pond, could we?)

With Parallax selling the XBee the X words definetly can not be out of order!
