Preventing reset when PC turned on

Hi All,

I want to prevent my PC from rebooting my Prop project. I am using the PC as a secondary display. Of course, I can plug and unplug the USB cable, but if I forget the project resets. Can I cut the reset line on my protoboard and install a switch to toggle when I want to program?

On most of my homemade stuff, I put a 0.1" jumper in series, and usually a 10K ish pullup on the Prop side. This stops the "real" resets from DTR etc but I still get the occasional resets from stuff being switched on or off (usually my 'scope) only when the RS232 cable is connected. I just assume that it is a ground loop thing. A capacitor across the reset pin caused more problems than it cures. I have yet to try anything with the BOE dissabled.

I use a simple push button (normally open) in between the reset line and the FTDI ic. Works flawlessly.
